James Stockdale has worked for an examinations board, two sector skills councils and is currently employed as Assistant Director - Qualifications at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CIS). CISI was established in 1992 from within the London Stock Exchange and is an awarding organisation and professional body for those working in the financial and banking sectors. It is regulated by Ofqual delivering around 42,000 qualifications a year, across 80 countries. James is also the Deputy Responsible Officer for Ofqual requirements and part of the Executive Team at the CISI.
Prior to joining the CISI, James worked at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) where he was the Head of Policy & Standards and part of the Senior Management Team. He headed up the IMI Sector Skills Council, meaning that he liaised across multiple awarding organisations to ensure that qualification and Apprenticeship products met the needs of employers in the sector.
A large part of his career was working for OCR Examinations Board, where he worked for just under 14 years.
