Christine was elected to the FAB Board in November 2013. She is CEO of apt awards (formerly OCNSWR). She has led apt awards through a transformation over the last 18 months which has included a successful rebrand, autonomy as an AO, and a restructure based on improving customer focus even further and ensuring continued compliance with the regulators.
Christine is experienced in the sector having worked at all levels within colleges from Lecturer to Principal including two different VP roles. She also has experience of examining, working for all 3 unitary Awarding bodies at varying times. This was reinforced by her role as Qualifications Leader at Edexcel where she led on developments on AVCE, GNVQ, NVQs, National and Higher Diplomas, GCSE and A levels in business subjects.
She is financially astute having graduated in and taught a wide range of business studies subjects as well as holding the Senior Managers roles within FE and in apt awards.
Christine really enjoys strategic planning and influencing policy, and has gained a great deal of experience of this in her senior roles and in national groups including two AoC strategy groups and national standards setting organisations. She has a wide experience of working with and being a member of Boards having been a trustee for a national awarding organisation, and chaired the Board of a small private company providing skills brokerage, a Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training and a work based working provider.
