Summary of the role

The role

As Academic Development Manager you will be responsible to provide academic learning, teaching and assessment development and support to Accredited Partner Centres in an assigned region in the delivery and assessment of the full portfolio of NCC Education’s qualifications and teaching and learning programmes.

You will be responsible for academic support and development of staff in the delivery of NCC Education programmes, including developing training courses and delivering staff development courses to internal and external parties. You will also be responsible for programme delivery and assessment support, by monitoring academic performance of Accredited Partner Centres and supporting other departments in NCC Education.

You will manage the accreditation and induction of Accredited Partner Centres, and monitor their on-going compliance with NCC Education Academic Regulations and requirements set out by the relevant regulatory bodies. You will also support the growth of current Accredited Partner Centres in the delivery of NCC Education qualifications and programmes.

The candidate

You will ideally have extensive experience of supporting teachers in the delivery of regulated qualifications and preparation for summative assessment, ideally in an international higher education context. We are particularly keen to hear from you if you have teaching experience in tertiary education institutions, preferably in Computing or Business.

Academic Development Managers work largely autonomously but with support from colleagues and contractors who are based in various locations (UK and overseas) and departments so a strong track record in effectively coordinating multiple projects and matrix management of people at the same time is essential. Supporting the business development of our partnered delivery centres is an important aspect of the role so a keen eye for commercial opportunity and experience of growing a business profitably is desirable.

The ability to interpret large quantitative and qualitative data sets is essential. Experience of delivering training and professional development content is desirable as this role also requires the ability to provide exceptional qualification training and support to both internal and external customers.    

You will ideally have deep knowledge of the relevant regional markets you are assigned to and experience in the UK higher education sector. You must be fluent in spoken and written English, though proficiency in one other language relevant to the particular region would be desirable. You must be willing to travel extensively within the allocated region to support new and existing Accredited Partner Centres.
