Summary of the role

As CIPS embarks on an exciting venture to increase our offering of online assessments we are seeking to expand our team of assessment authors. This is an excellent opportunity for procurement professionals to become more involved with the Institute and to expand their expertise to support the profession.

We are seeking to recruit procurement experts to develop objective response (also known as multiple choice) questions for the diploma level qualifications. Previous experience is useful, but full training will be conducted over a two day period at our offices near Stamford, Lincolnshire. It is essential that authors hold current MCIPS/ FCIPS designation and are up-to-date with the CIPS ethics test.

Responsibilities of a CIPS assessment author

  • Generate questions using the online tool as directed by CIPS Assessment Standards.
  • To ensure that academic standards in line with the CIPS specification are met.
  • To maintain current CPD records in procurement including the CIPS Ethics test.

The work is provided on a consultancy basis and is paid per question, on acceptance by the Senior Standards Verifier. CIPS typically commission in batches of 30 to 40 at a time to enable authors to manage their other commitments.
