Summary of the role

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is a registered charity which provides market-leading qualifications in wines, spirits and sake in 19 languages. Our qualifications are offered via a network of over 700 centres (Approved Programme Providers - APPs) in more than 70 countries. WSET Awards is the awarding body division of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, responsible for the design, content and administration of WSET qualifications. We now seek a Centre’s Co-ordination & Quality Assurance Advisor who will be an integral part of the APP Administration team within the WSET Awards department. APP Administration consists of a team of eight people, six of whom are based in London and two in Hong Kong.

Overall responsibilities involve:

  • Administering the WSET Awards centre registration/renewal process, compliance and quality schemes
  • Maintaining the approved status of WSET qualifications and assuring quality in the delivery of the same.
This will be subject to the instructions of the Centres Co-ordination and Quality Assurance Manager – our desire is to gain maximum efficiency from the post-holder in terms of best practice, quality and quantity of output, customer service and use of resources.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong administration skills and experience
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy with excellent attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access
  • Awareness of quality, risk and compliance issues (experience of working for an awarding body in quality assurance is desirable)
  • WSET qualifications and an interest in wine and spirits education (desirable)
  • Fluency in foreign languages (desirable) Personal Attributes

  • Client focused, with first-rate communication skills, especially when dealing with different cultures
  • Confidence in dealing with challenging or sensitive situations

Salary and Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience.

Full time (37½ hours per week, standard office hours). Permanent with a 3-month probationary period. Based at Bermondsey Street, London, SE1.

WSET provides a range of benefits including 20 days’ holiday and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). The post holder is required to have some flexibility in terms of working hours to cover travel for centre visits, which may sometimes be at short notice.
