Summary of the role

Chief Examiner

The Chief Examiner will be responsible for ensuring that examinations for the BCS Level 1/2 Technical Award in Digital Literacy meet specification requirements and maintain standards on an ongoing basis.

The role will require approximately 100 days per year and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the quality assurance of all examination materials
  • Providing direction to Product Management and Development teams on examination design and content
  • Reviewing examination materials on a scheduled basis
  • Conducting data analysis (including candidate response and mark allocation) for reporting and providing feedback as part of scheduled examination reviews
  • Lead training events for the marking team to ensure good practice around quality, standards, communication and maintaining professional relevance
  • Ensuring standardisation across the marking team
