Summary of the role

 

An exciting opportunity as arisen within our Product department for an e-Learning Resource Developer on a 12 month fixed term contract starting as soon as possible.  We are looking for someone who has 3 years in an e-learning related design role and qualified to level 4 in the relevant qualification(s).

 

As an e-Learning Resource Developer some of your key responsibilities will be:

 

  • To develop tailored e-learning content that will then be owned by EAL

  • Work with the Learning Resource Specialist in the successful development and delivery of eLearning modules

  • Ensure successful development and delivery of the online learning materials for use by engineering trainees

  • Using either existing materials that can be converted or to develop new materials by utilising the expertise of Product Specialists

  • Develop materials to the defined specification and will present the finished products to the stakeholders for review and comment

  • Assisting the Learning Resource Specialist in the management of content on the EAL platform

 

  • Apply instructional design theories and practice to design and develop innovative and engaging e-learning modules (SCORM) in a structured and well written format.

  • Develop and produce high quality technology-enhanced learning resources (e.g. interactive resources, summative and formative quizzes, digital narratives, high quality imagery and video content, etc.), for use within the virtual learning environment

  • Take a proactive role to work with internal subject matter experts to script, design and develop e-learning content

  • Develop robust assessments to evaluate effectiveness of learning content and use of the systems

 

Skills:

 

  • Fully conversant in Adobe Captivate, Articulate or acceptable alternative

  • Conversant in HTML 5

  • An understanding of SCORM compliance and LMS systems

  • Creative, with attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a structured way

  • Following and analysing organisational procedures

  • Recognising areas for improvement and making recommendations

  • Able to comprehend engineering concepts

  • An understanding of learning styles and educational requirements

  • Excellent written and speaking skills
