Open College Network West Midlands is a national Awarding Organisation, regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), to develop and award nationally recognised qualifications. We work in partnership with employers, training providers, colleges, universities, schools and voluntary and community organisations to offer vocational credit-based qualifications, Access to Higher Education Diplomas and quality assured Customised Accreditation to help learners gain employment or to progress into further learning and Higher Education.

Description

We are seeking an External Verifier to Externally Quality Assure the following Open College Network West Midlands qualifications:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Canine Studies
  • Level 3 Certificate in Canine Training and Behaviour
  • Level 3 Certificate in Professional Working Dog Handling – Drug Detection Dogs
  • Level 3 Certificate in Professional Working Dog Handling – Explosives Detection
  • Level 3 Award in Professional Working Dog Handling – General Purpose Dogs
  • Level 3 Certificate in Professional Working Dog Handling – General Purpose Dogs

Applicants must:

  • Possess significant experience in Professional Working Dog Handling, evidenced by qualifications and/or references
  • Be able to demonstrate recent and on-going CPD in relation to Professional Working Dog Handling
  • Possess a qualification in External Quality Assurance (or willing to work towards the Level 4 in the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice).
The role will involve quality monitoring visits to Centres in England, Scotland and Wales and submission of reports.  A driving licence and means of independent travel are essential.
