Summary of the role
ICB is the largest bookkeeping institute in the world. It promotes and maintains the standards of bookkeeping as a profession through the establishment of relevant qualifications and the award of grades of membership that recognise academic attainment, work experience and competence.
ICB has recently been approved as an Independent Assessment Organisation (IAO) for end-point assessments for the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship and, as such, is now seeking Independent Assessors (IA) in readiness for the first cohort of apprentices in September 2018.
The IA will carry out assessment of the apprentice and make the final decision on whether the apprentice meets the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Standard. The IA will be required to mark the apprentice’s portfolio of evidence collated from the work place which should reflect the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed in the Standard. The IA will also be required to conduct a reflective discussion with the apprentice, which is a minimum of 60 minutes, either face-to-face or remotely through SKYPE or equivalent means.
Applications are welcome from individuals who
- hold a Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification equivalent to, or higher than, the level for the Standard (Level 3);
- have proven occupational competence; and
- are experienced or are newly qualified assessors.
The hours and nature of the role will be determined by the level of demand for apprenticeships and will be agreed on an individual basis. Salary will be discussed at interview.
