Summary of the role
We are seeking to bolster the governing body of our Awarding Organisation, CMI, by inviting applications for new Members of our Regulation Compliance Committee.
This Committee oversees and supports our Awarding Organisation to ensure we achieve our high quality standards and comply with all regulatory requirements including Ofqual’s general Conditions of Recognition, along with the requirements of SQA and Qualifications Wales. It has effective oversight of the Awarding Organisation and its operational functions. It satisfies itself that our Statements of Compliance are accurate and honest, and reflect its opinion of the Awarding Organisation’s compliance. The Committee monitors risk and any events that could cause adverse impact and progress on resolving significant issues, including any non-compliance.
We are looking for new Committee Members who are familiar with working in and assuring quality in a regulated environment, ideally in this sector although this isn’t essential. The Committee meets usually 4 times a year in London and has full professional support. As this is our Governing Body, Committee Members cannot already have any commercial relationship with our Awarding Organisation whether this be as a paid or contracted employee or an approved Centre.
