Rob has more than 15 years experience driving strategic, operational and commercial efforts in the awarding sector, having held senior positions at OCR, City & Guilds, YMCA Awards and currently as the CEO of the Association of Business Executives (ABE), a UK-based non-profit offering international business qualifications.
ABE’s qualifications are available throughout the world. Rob’s role at ABE involves providing corporate direction, leadership and board-level P&L accountability, setting a direction of travel for the company, and planning appropriate responses to the rapidly evolving global education market.
Rob began his career in journalism, and since then he has firmly believed in getting quickly to the heart of matters and holding public figures to account through a process of challenge and discourse. He has worked with employers, trade bodies, regulatory authorities, sector skills councils and government committees on activities ranging from the development of new occupational standards to implementing qualification strategies in multi-national organisations, and across a wide range of industries. Rob has also been directly involved in campaigning and lobbying at parliamentary level, and forming mission-driven partnerships. He became a board member at FAB in October 2016.
