Chief Executive Officer
About the role
As Chief Executive Officer you will lead on the strategic and business planning of the organisation, along with working with senior managers on the identification and evaluation of new qualification opportunities and the management of negotiations with external partners in relation to company products and provision. This will be aided by keeping abreast with sector policy and funding reform along with maintaining strong networks and relationships across the sector.
You will be responsible for pro-actively identifying, evaluating and implementing business opportunities, aligned to the strategy of the Open College Network West Midlands, which will further strengthen the position of the Open College Network West Midlands, in line with the mission of the organisation and to ensure an efficient and cost effective service.

With a naturally strategic mind, experience of operating at a senior level within a sector-relevant organisation is essential – with passion and commitment to lifelong learning, the next Chief Executive Officer will lead an established, committed and experienced team of professionals, who strive to provide all customers with the very best level of customer service at all times.
You will be people-focused with a keen eye for delivering a quality service to your customers and understanding their business and/or individual needs in line with the organisation’s vision of ‘being the best we can’. Your style should be inclusive and collaborative, to enable full engagement from your team and ensure that they are on board and committed in the future development of the organisation.
With the sector expected to continue to change and adapt in response to UK Government policy, the Chief Executive Officer will need to be decisive, intuitive and forward thinking; recognising when to act to keep up with societal change, customer feedback or business opportunity, to ensure Open College Network West Midlands remains at the forefront.
