Lead Development Manager
We have two exciting, permanent opportunities within the Assessment and Development function for enthusiastic and committed professionals who will lead and manage high performing teams. The Lead Development Managers will ensure that the team’s resources and capabilities are developed and implemented to deliver fit for purpose qualifications and assessments for a range of industry areas. We are seeking experienced professionals that can successfully evidence their work within an assessment and product development environment.
About The Role
As the Lead Development Manager, your role is critical as you are responsible for providing operational leadership within the Development team.
You will work with cross team colleagues and stakeholders to define new approaches for types of qualifications and operationalise in the development team. You will oversee the development and delivery of fit for purpose qualifications and assessments. You will also contribute to pre and post bid activities for the wider team, alongside managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
In addition to this, you will provide first class leadership and will coach and develop your team to the level at which is required in order to guarantee the success of the wider team’s outputs. This will include the building and maintaining of the technical capability across the development teams
The key responsibilities for this role include developing and implementing operational and strategic plans to ensure efficient delivery of planned qualifications and assessments to high quality standards; managing budgets, including forecasting and monitoring; managing and developing skills of team; managing policy implementation, quality assurance & continuous improvement to systems and processes; managing and developing internal and external stakeholder relationships, including working in partnership with other Awarding Organisations and Involvement in bids and tender activity for new qualification opportunities.
The successful candidate will have proven and practical experience of qualifications design & delivery and assessment methodology; proven track record of managing and prioritising a range of projects/work activities; ability to lead and develop team members and excellent communication and negotitation skills.
It’s critical that you hold expert knowledge and skills in product, qualification and assessment design, development and delivery. You must also hold a thorough understanding of the education / assessment sector (to provide an understanding of how assessment products are applied in the classroom).
