Key Responsibilities for this role include:

Quality Assurance and Compliance

Lead and manage Gatehouse Awards Quality Assurance and Compliance function in accordance with regulatory requirements
Lead the development, implementation and review of the Quality Assurance systems and processes for Regulated Qualifications.
Liaise with the key personnel and outside agencies on all matters relevant to this and Gatehouse Awards Qualifications
Develop and continually improve effective and efficient quality assurance and compliance systems and practices.
Write, implement and review quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure Gatehouse Awards meets the General Conditions f Recognition.
Support and advise other members of the management team as well as other staff in all issues relating to quality assurance and compliance as necessary.
Monitor, review and report to Governing Body on all quality assurance issues.
Maintain & provide summary information for regulatory bodies on Gatehouse Awards’ quality assurance.
Play a key role in the qualification development process by applying efficient quality assurance approaches in the development, design, assessing and awarding of Gatehouse Awards qualifications.
Oversee and operate the enquiries, complaints and appeals procedure.
Investigate and manage all irregularities which might threaten the integrity of delivery, assessment and awarding systems including adverse effects
Carry out investigations in relation to cases of potential or confirmed malpractice and maladministration.
Effectively operate the center and qualification approval processes, including the undertaking and / or coordinating of approval visits.
Conduct other centre visits (general quality assurance, advisory / support, malpractice investigation) as required.
Organise professional development events for centre staff.
Recruit, train and line manage external quality assurance staff.
Prepare for, lead and report on standardisation meetings of external quality assurance staff.
Prepare reports on the performance of assessors and moderators.
Manage internal and external audits.
Represent Gatehouse Awards at local, regional and national events as required.
Undertake additional training as required and maintain own professional development.
Work with the Governing Body Team to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources in the context of the agreed business plan.
Contribute to annual self-assessment activities.
Contribute to the continuous development of the services and operational activities of Gatehouse Awards.
Identify new business opportunities and be commercially aware.
Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the post as requested by the Executive Director.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Degree level education, equivalent qualification / experience or higher (desirable)
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (essential)
Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance or its equivalent (essential)
Level 4 Award in External Quality Assurance or its equivalent (desirable)
Background and Experience:

At least 3 years experience in an awarding, assessment or educational environment.
A good working knowledge and understanding of qualification regulation, standards setting bodies and awarding organisation procedures, roles and requirements.
Skills and personal attributes:

Good analytical and interpretation skills.
Strong communication skills (including written, presentation, reasoning and IT skills) particularly in producing reports and procedures.
Commercial awareness – ability to identify cost improvements for the business, efficient and effective ways of working, understanding costs / revenues.
Experience of developing new services and providing high level of customer service whilst maintaining compliance in a commercial environment.
Demonstrates high level of attention to detail required in a regulated environment.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Willingness to travel as the job requires.
