Role description (Writer)

As an Assessment Associate: Writer you will be responsible for writing valid, reliable and fit-for-purpose assessments, based on the principles and practices of assessment writing.

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Produce assessment content (question papers and mark schemes) that meet the qualification and assessment specification requirements.

·         Submit assessment content in the required format, within agreed timescales.

·         Ensure that assessment content meets all commissioning instructions, as agreed with the Assessment Design Officer.

·         Provide additional assessment content as required, including document/image sources and details of copyright permission needed.

·         Attend review and commissioning meetings and training sessions, as required.

·         Liaise with Chief Examiners, Assessment Reviewers, Scrutineers and Assessment Design Officers, and amend own content in response to feedback.

Role description (Reviewer)

As an Assessment Associate: Reviewer you will work with the Assessment Writer to ensure that valid, reliable and fit-for-purpose assessments are written, based on the principles and practices of assessment writing.

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Review assessment content (briefs and tasks or question papers and mark schemes) to ensure that it meets the qualification and assessment specification requirements.

·         Submit reviews of assessment content in the required format, within agreed timescales.

·         Ensure that assessment content meets all commissioning instructions, as agreed with the Assessment Design Officer.

·         Attend review and commissioning meetings and training sessions, as required.

·         Liaise with the Assessment Writer and Assessment Design Officer, as required.

Specification

Location: Home-based

Contract: Contracted services

Qualifications: You should be educated to degree level in Engineering or a related subject and/or have current or recent experience in the industry.

Experience:

·         You should have experience of writing or reviewing or scrutinising assessments for Engineering or a related subject.

·         You should have current or recent experience delivering an Engineering qualification or equivalent, at Level 2 or above.

Skills:

·         You should have excellent written and oral communication skills.

·         You should have excellent attention to detail.

·         You should be able to work accurately and consistently, and at times to tight timescales.

Requirements:

·         You must have access to a PC/laptop with a reliable and secure internet connection.

·         You must be IT literate and be open to using online applications/e-technologies.
