The Role – (Part-time – 21 hours per week)

To provide academic management of a portfolio of qualifications including the development, accreditation, assessment and moderation processes.

The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the management team, increasing RSL’s market whilst demonstrating a clear focus and commitment to regulatory compliance, academic rigour and market innovation.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Monitor, maintain and ensure the accuracy of all qualification syllabus specifications, unit specifications and exemplar materials
Provide continual evaluation of qualification portfolio in order to ensure regulatory compliance at all times
Support the Head of Vocational (Academic) with the research and strategic planning of qualification reviews and potential portfolio expansion
Work within, and manage assigned budgets in the revision of existing qualifications and the creation of new qualifications
Manage qualification submission to regulators and authorities
Manage relationships with government departments and funding agencies
Conduct the initial review of all relevant, authored content and undertake proof reading and editing duties as necessary
Assist in the design and implementation of operational systems and procedures
Be the initial point of contact for syllabus related customer enquiries and work with all RSL departments to ensure outstanding customer service
Contribute to the training and guidance of External Quality Assurers (EQAs) and External Assessors (EAs) within the qualifications managed
Manage the development of standardisation and examination material
Manage RSL’s issues log for the qualifications managed
Work closely with the marketing department to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all relevant copy
Participate in relevant training events, presenting when required
Promote the qualifications and expertise of RSL at industry events
Constantly appraise the Education sector for commercial opportunities
Establish and maintain good communications across the business and at all levels
Provide support to other managers around specific areas of expertise

REQUIREMENTS

Degree level education in Performing Arts or a similar field
Performing Arts or musically literate to a professional level
Significant professional experience as either a performer or an educator
A good understanding of creative education pedagogy and assessment
Experience with qualification/curriculum design
Authoring of published texts advantageous
